Happy June!

In this issue: What's happening this month at Mantra Yoga, New morning classes, a New Sunday morning class & time change, and studio policy updates.

Bliss is Back!

This beloved class has been a signature class at Mantra Yoga for many-many years. Others have attempted to replicate it, but as you've all expressed, it's just not the same anywhere else. So join us for our blissful combination of flow, yin, and restorative yoga accompanied by essential oils and loving hands-on assists.

Beginning this weekend:

  • Sunday with Kat at 8:30 - 9:30 am (registration closes at 8 pm the evening before.)

  • Monday with Marlena at 6:00 - 7:00 pm

New Morning Classes:

Move: this practice is an invigorating Flow class focused on moving your body through an effervescent sequence, increasing your breath capacity, and getting you ready and energized to take on the day.

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays with Marlena at 8:00 - 9:00 am (registration closes at 8 pm the evening before.)

Booking updates and changes.

As yoga studios on the North Shore still struggle to reach our pre-pandemic class attendance levels, one thing is clear; the North Shore community isn't practicing yoga like it once did. It's truly a shame as it once helped many through these challenging times.

Despite mega gyms and corporate fitness chains planting roots in the area, the small boutique studios independently owned and staffed by North Shore women persevere and continue to provide yoga from our heart and soul. Is it easy? Heck, no! But we'll show up if you do.

As attendance is unpredictable and nowhere near what it was before Covid, we'll need to pivot again for the summer slow-down season.

  • We'll require a minimum of three pre-registered clients to hold the class. If we do not reach this minimum two hours before the class begins, we'll email those booked to cancel it.

  • Early morning classes (those before 9 am) will require the minimum met by 8 pm the evening before.

I've resisted implementing this, but it's unfair to our hard-working staff, whose revenue is impacted by low attendance.

How can you help? I knew you'd ask and the answer is simple. Invite your friends to join you in classes. Check-in at Mantra Yoga on Facebook. Spread the word because everyone can and will benefit from a yoga practice now, and importantly - leave us a review on Google - please don't underestimate the impact of your kind words for the world to see. Many people check Google reviews before stepping foot into a new experience.

Lately, we've seen more and more people booked for classes who No-Show.

I know life gets in the way sometimes. However, not showing up for a booked session in a limited capacity studio space loses the studio much-needed revenue, and prevents others from purchasing and booking when classes fill. It may seem trivial to some, but it's costly in the challenging environment yoga studios now face. So please respect our community and staff by canceling booked sessions you can not attend.

With grit, gratitude, and a heart full of love,

Marlena
